This held true for the owners of Noodlehead in Pittsburgh. The casual Thai noodle joint decided to repair and resurface the floor of their dining space to improve the overall dining experience for their customers. Knowing that each day the restaurant remained closed for renovations meant an entire day without earnings, time was of the essence.

The project called for a solution that supplied speed without sacrificing quality and service. The contractors turned to FloorPrep’s Skimflow^® LCB Rapid over PrepPro^® SLV.

Designed for fast-track interior installations, Skimflow^® LCB Rapid is a fiber-reinforced, pumpable, self-leveling material that features accelerated drying to facilitate foot traffic as quickly as 90 minutes and floor covering installations the next day. With superior density, exceptional durability, and resistance to wheel tracking, Skimflow^® LCB Rapid ensures a smooth, strong foundation for a variety of floor finishes.

PrepPro^® SLV is a very low viscosity, water-based surface strengthening epoxy primer. For this project, it was utilized to treat hairline cracking on the exposed subfloor.

The result? A seamless installation that allowed Noodlehead to get back to business with minimal disruption. The combination of PrepPro® SLV and Skimflow^® LCB Rapid delivered a floor that was level and resilient and ready to support the high foot traffic and constant movement typical of a busy restaurant environment. With foot traffic possible in as little as 90 minutes, the team stayed on schedule — and the restaurant avoided the extended closures that typically come with more traditional flooring methods.
